82. FORGETFULNESS (2006 to 2007)

Close to the final touches of my box set "No Single Single" in 2006, I found an unlabeld archive CD-R with four or five tracks on, which I never seemd to have heard before. And still - they sounded somewhat like me, apart from some guitar playing I couldn't identify...

After some hours of severe relistening and trying to remember, it slowly occoured to me that one day not too long before that find, I had taken my old, almost not tunable electric guitar and messed around with it while drinking a bottle of wine (or two...).

Eventually, one of these tunes became the title track of this album, I also used two more from that CD-r and added a couple of "lone" tracks that did fit well into the slightly optimistic style of those forgotten tracks. Also, the lovely Cilia di Ponte lent her voice to three tracks - and I myself "sang" on another (with the help of a vocoder).

P.S. Oh, the double irony! When - a few years ago - I uploaded my back catalogue to Bandcamp, I forgot to include "Forgetfulness" and only realised it much later... ;-)
