...is the studio version of my second concert, at the wedding party of good friends, Martina and Uli, back in 2009 (who also had been the hosts of the B4 SUNRISE session that resulted in "Martians" and my very first solo concert a few years earlier...).
They asked if I would like to play a 45 minute set (as my "wedding gift") and I composed the music especially for that event. It also was the reason (or justfication ;-) ) to buy my Waldorf Blofeld synth and master keyboard which still form the back bone of my live setup and thus is the "mother" of all live performances I did ever since...
On two tracks the wonderful Cilia di Ponte joined me on vocals (who is, as some of You know, my wife). She also co-wrote one of the tracks.
The other track is a cover version that we played at the end of the set - to create a transition to the DJ who took over for the rest of the evening, and who was supposed to play "80s music".
The album is a FREE download, and that cover version is "hidden" ( = not visible / streamable via Bandcamp) but only included in the actual download (to avoid any legal troubles).
We had no means to record the actual performance at that evening, and created this "studio version" (which is very close to how it sounded like) a short time later, to give it to the couple as a CD. I always thought all in all it turned out lovely, but hesitated to release it for almost 12 years, mainly because of said cover version...
The style of the music is mostly fairly accessible, laid-back chill out electronica with some short ambient interludes and only a few more "dramatic" moments (relatively speaking).
The original 45 minutes left space for some extra tracks, so I added three or four (slightly more experimental) bonus tracks, recorded shortly before the album in 2009.

We performed in the evening, at the wedding party. Cilia di Ponte had already sung two (classical) songs at the church cermemony in the afternoon, and we wanted to include a link to that in the performance:
Thus, the title of the album - and the spoken words of the title track - are taken from the Bible, from a rather well-known part of St. Paul's letter to the Corinthians :
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to the flames, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
