This album (obviously) is an addition to the "main" album "The Outsider" (see here: michaelbrueckner.bandcamp.com/album/the-outsider-music-inspired-by-the-life-and-work-of-h-p-lovecraft).

It's my 42nd album, incidentally finished around Lovecraft's 112th birthday in August 2002, but - although it was hypthetically "available" by then - "released" as part of my self-distributed large box set "No Single Single" in the summer of 2007.

Around the time of this project (ca. 2001 - 2003) I had developed a strong interest in remixes; it seemed to me that this was one field of musical creativity where still new and exciting things were happening (sometimes) and where a similar "vibe" of playfully venturing into the unknown prevailed like in that era I always had been so fond of, from 1968 - 1978.
I particularily had been impressed by remixes of songs by Björk and Nine Inch Nails, and also then recent original work by David Sylvian (which was quite similar to these remixes), and I felt inspired to mess around with some of my own stuff, too (not that I want to suggest that any of my tracks matches the excellent work of the musicians mentioned above).

Although the track "It Is Not Dead" is included in five "versions", these are (except for the very first and last one) considerably different - actually most of the material had been altered almost beyond recognition (that's why I rather used the word "rework" than "remix").

With "The Dunwich Horror" the album also contains one original track.

"It Is Not Dead (Session Remix)" features my old B4 SUNRISE bandmates Reinhold Krämer on keyboards and Wolfgang Bechtluft on (in this case: acoustic) guitar, as well as my wife Cäcilia on vocals.

If You are interested in the background of this project, please read the "liner notes" of the main album, "The Outsider".

If You like the Lovecraft inspiration of this album, You might also be interested in my slightly later album "Breakfast on Yuggoth":
