about

A few years ago, I wrote in my „nearly complete catalogue“:

47. SOMNAMBOULE
2002: My first completely beat-free album (except for some "ethnic" percussion chatter here and there) after "A New Age" six years earlier, and one of my personal ambient/drone favorites from my catalogue.

* * *

Actually, there’s not much to add to this, except maybe for the remark that I thought this album was more or less in the tradition of Brian Eno (…as opposed to anything „teutonic“ ;-) ) plus some more contemporary influences here and there.

Oh, yes: and the album title was (perhaps) misspelled, the correct French word being „somnambule“. Then again, perhaps it was on purpose (just to give the title some „twist“ as was my habit back then at times). To be honest, 15 years later I don’t remember it anymore, but I kept the typo, for boring „historical“ correctness...

…and while I’m just at it: the weird „French“ spelling of the last track title *WAS* on purpose (except for what I wrote about the „ou“ versus „u“ thing above…)

A friend and listener who went by the pseudonym Gauch&Schlom did create a few YouTube videos for some of my tracks and hosted them on his channel, some years ago - I think this one (for "Anchor") may well be the first of my tracks ever appearing on that platform...
