about

143 BPM - put together briefly after the turn of the millenium - is a dance album (mostly hard trance, I guess) which flows in one continuous mix, all tracks being in the tempo of (...you guess it!).

Actually it was my very first album ever which had this "feature" - a continuous mix - for a very simple reason: I had acquired a new version of my CD burner software, which now allowed to burn tracks with no interruption (before, one second between tracks had been the minimum).

Of course, this option long since is a given standard, but at that time it arrived as a new possiblility (for me) that I had been waiting for for a long time, and I was very keen on using it.

So, for the purpose of a first test, I picked a couple of older - basic - techno tracks (which I had produced in large numbers since 1998 but ever used only a fracture of them on actual albums), rearranged, remixed and enhanced them a bit, added some new elements and wrote an ambient intro and outro - and there was the new album!

I think I did more interesting dance(ish) albums later (for example "Ascensions" is also based on old techno tracks from the same period which later got "pimped up", but to better result) - still this one is good fun, too - provided you don't mind the ubiquitous four to the floor kicks, hi-hats and TB303-ish sequences...
