  • Compact Disc (CD)

Five high quality CD-Rs in a jewel case with full artwork by Andreas Schwietzke (CD imprint, booklet)

Includes ALL the tracks from the digital release + a few more bonus tracks not contained therein.

    IMPORTANT NOTES:

    - CD IV is different as CD IV of the 4 CD-R set

    - the 5 CD-R set contains the original versions of the material on CD I (as released in early 2008). While CD 1 is remastered, partly remixed and slightly shortened, the material is still basically included twice - therefor I recommend this only for "die hard fans" who have an interest in comparing the old and the new versions.

In the download version, there was no problem, as I don't have extra production costs for including the old versions, but in the physical version I have - obviously - higher production costs, so there has to be a difference...

    ----------------------------------------------------

IMPORTANT INFO (I tell You twice...):

The music of "Sequenz und Konsequenz IV - ursprüngliche lange Fassung von 2008" (on CD IV) and "Sequenz und Konsequenz V - ursprüngliche lange Fassung von 2008" (on CD IV) is - basically - THE SAME as CD I. Of course not exactly. Still, the differences may only be interesting for die hard Brückner fans (...if such people should exist).
    The differences are:

    - On CD I, the material is remastered and partly remixed (on CD IV and V You find the original versions, as posted on my old Myspace blog in 2008).

    - On CD I, the music is cut to several seperate tracks (on CD IV and V, it's all one long mix, in one singel track).

    - The original versions were actually longer, especially "Sequenz und Konsequenz IV" containes one longer passage that I excluded in the remixed version (actually because I didn't think it's so brilliant anymore).
However, I have completely rearranged and remixed the material from this passage, and the result is the track "Die Dichtkunst Japans"

about

A. General Introduction and "History Lesson"

The main body of the music contained in this release has (for a short time) been available earlier; actually, it was posted in one of my blogs on my old MySpace page, as part of a series entitled "Sequenz und Konsequenz".

I started that little side-project somewhere around late 2007, as an outlet of spontaneous music, and maintained it until summer 2008.
There were eight parts in total, each one remaining online until replaced by the next. Part eight turned out to be so well-received, that I decided to release it as a "regular" album, resulting in "Days in the Sun".
Soon after, a couple of ill-concieved changes to MySpace eventually led to the decay of that platform's popularity, and especially with the blogs removed to a hidden corner, it didn't seem to make sense to continue the series.
However, there were still some 'minor parts' added later - mainly improvisations to bridge the waiting time until "Part 9" (which since then is lying dormant and unfinished on my hard disc...).

When I re-listened some of the original episodes in late 2011, I felt large parts of the material were interesting enough to justify a proper release. So here we go...

I decided to give each of the original parts it's own title this time, while displaying it's origin in a subtitle.

Since all the Episodes were quite different from one another, each release will also have it's individual shape and structure.
They will have one thing in common though:
- all Episodes will be remastered and, if possible and necessary, remixed
- all releases will contain a wealth of additional tracks and/or variations, to (hopefully) make them interesting even for those (few) listeners that followed the original series back then...

B. About this specific release:

Parts IV and V were both originally recorded in early 2008, and with their release as an album, the whole series is available again, and the project is now finally closed - thus the title "In letzter Konsequenz" (which could be translated as "the last consequenz" - the last part, so to say - but rather means the final, or ultimate, consequenz; that which it all amounts to, and to what it comes down in the end).

Now, incidentally, very short before I decided to release "In letzter Konsequenz", a good friend of mine (...and my biggest fan, too!) sent me a rather passionate email concerning a formerly unreleased track that I had sent him. Actually he said, that it drove him crazy that the track builds up to a point where he expects "the sequences to come in for serious" several times, but never "delivers". He told me he would never listen to any of my music again until I fixed that - and so I (hopefully) did. Because of the timing, and since it were sequences he longed for, I thought it might be suitable to include the resulting track to this release (in case it should turn out nice) - and so I did, already having the idea to call it "Die letzte Konseqeunz" while I was still working on it.

But then, something else happened and added a more serious note to what I did: I learned that an old internet friend of mine, and also an interested listener who already encouraged me years ago when not many other people took notice, had passed away. Actually, he had decided to end his life, and since I knew that he had to undergo heavy surgery a few years earlier, I think he did so because of a terminal disease. This came, of course, as quite a shock for me; and also, in another friend's family, a similar thing happened just a week before I received these sad news. In the light of these serious and sad events, the title of the track I was working took on a whole different meaning, and my feelings and thoughts concerning that situation effected the direction the music was taking...

Therefore, I'd like to humbly dedicate this release to these two persons, both of which I never met in "real life", and I wish them a good journey to wherever they have departed from here...

On the Bandcamp page, You can (obviously) only see (and listen to) a small part of this rather large release; to access the rest, You have to actually purchase it (for a rather affordable price, I think).

C. Even more info on the structure of the release and the indluded tracks...

The complete material actually has a playing time of 343 minutes (5 hours and 43 minutes, or 4,4 CDs)

However, part of the material is included (more or less) twice, so maybe it's fair to say it's "only" 253 minutes (4 hours and 13 minutes) of music:

The "core" of the album are the remastered versions of "Sequenz und Konsequenz IV" and "V" which I have now split up into individual tracks with their own titles - this part filles exactly one CD with 78 minutes; however, I also have included the original versions as formerly presented in my blog, back then in early 2008; there are some differences in sound, length and some further details, but in the first place the original versions are not seperated in individual tracks; instead they are each one long, uninterrupted mix. I have included them for comparison, if You're interested, and in case You prefer the slightly mellower mix of the original.

Then, also the long track "Die Letzte Konsequenz" is, from my point of view, part of the "core" - the album as such.

The rest of the tracks are bonus tracks which are not vital to the artistic concept of this release, but hopefully nice additions anyway; all are connected to the whole project in one way or another:

There is the original track which teased my good friend so much that he "forced" me to create a "sequenced" version of it; it's from 2009 (or maybe 2010) and I originally created it for a Russian V/A compilation I was invited to but never heard of again; I then used it at some point as a giveaway for the members of my LastFM group.

Then there's a 'two track Berlin School suite', "Die gar merckwürdige Reise des Olaus Wormius" which originally were two tracks I had improvised as gifts for that very same friend. Recently I had edited them a little bit because yet another V/A compilation editor had asked me for material (...she picked another track, though). They seemed to fit in well here...

Then there are five tracks which actually are remixes (or otherwise based on) of some of the "Sequenz und Konsequenz" tracks.

Finally, I also have included the first teaser for this release - in the first place as a visable (and listenable) preview track on the Bandcamp page, then again, I think it's maybe a nice "remix" in itself.

Here's the full track list / structure.
