about

In my good old "Nearly Complete Catalogue" (which originally was a blog entry at LastFM, but is offline since years due to changes on that platform) the entry concerning "Tune Fish" is rather brief:

56. TUNE FISH (2003): Another collection of slightly weird and bizarre atmospheric electronicals with some dance leanings in places...

Which still describes this album quite aptly.

The only thing I'd like to add is that at one point I received some unexpected praise for it from a rather unlikely listener - German electronic avant garde composer and industrial music pioneer Asmus Tietchens - when I had dedicated another album (Oddwind) to the great man, I had also sent him "Tune Fish" and other albums, and was told:

"(...) Umso mehr haben mir "Tune Fish" und "Movies..." gefallen. Wahrscheinlich mit dem selben Equipment wie "Oddwind" hergestellt, sind sie doch ungleich individueller als diese. Prima Sounds, unerwartete Ereignisse und kurz + bündig - das macht Spaß zu hören!"

"(...) I enjoyed "Tune Fish" and "Movies..." much more. Quite likely recorded with the same equipment as "Oddwind", these sound far more individual. Great sounds, unexpected events, no overlong tracks: this is fun to listen to!"

Needless to say that I felt rather elated that the more experimental side of my work found some legitimation this way... :-)

Oh, and by the way - Asmus' guess was wrong: it was different equipment on all of those three albums...
